The island with its 380 square kilometers offers hiking tours on the coast, through lush pine and forests up to hikes that lead to the higher regions with places of alpine character and picturesque mountain villages and monasteries of the island. An ideal spot with simple to advanced routes. You walk through the olive groves, on donkey paths and forest roads. Your way through the diversified nature olives, herbs and honey are going to win for you on a new meaning at the same time you encounter the charming history of the island, of the impressive and massive city walls, the ancient theater, the Acropolis and other cultural sanctuaries have filed testimony. With a bike ride through the Nestos Delta or a hike or canoe trip through the gorge of Nestos on the mainland, you can round out this program to an unforgettable experience.

Day 1: Arriving at Kavala or Thessaloniki Airport. Transfer to the port Keramoti and by ferry boat the Island of Thasos. Transfer to the hotel. Welcome meeting followed by dinner.Transfer to the port Keramoti from Thessaloniki airport about 3 hours.Transfer to the port Keramoti from Kavala airport about 15 minutes. Day 2: Panorama-Walk from Panagia to Potamia. A hike with breathtaking panoramic views as the best start for a walking week on the island of Thasos. Approx 2-3 hours +100m -200m Day 3: To the roof of the island. This hike is one of the more demanding, Thasos has to offer and leads you to the "Roof of the island," the Ipsarion mountain (1,206 m). Overall, more than 1,000 meters have to be overcome. But despite the steep climb and no less strenuous descent, the effort is worthwhile because of the spectacular scenery and the fantastic panoramic overview of the island of Thasos. On clear days, the islands of Samothrace, Lemnos and the Holy Mountain Athos and the eastern Macedonian mainland can be seen. Hike: The starting point is the village square of Potamia. After passing the chapel of Agios Ioannis, the trail leads between gardens, bee hives and stables passing asource always upward in direction of the Ipsarion. Despite all effort, you should always look back and enjoy the amazing view of the coast. Approx 7-8 hours +1000m -1000m Day 4: Free Day 5: From Thimonia to the mountain village Theologos. This hike offers some of the best view over the south and the east-side of the island. Hike: Start of the walk is the beach of Thimonia in the south of the island. A total of 400 m must be conquered, but all in all it's going quite cozyup. On your way you can enjoy beautiful views of the south coast and the massif of Trikorfon and you have the opportunity to observe the work in a marble quarry. Between young pines it goes up the hill and a short detour through an olive grove, will leads you to the remains of the ancient tower of Thimonia. While continue you will pass bee hives and the to Theologos belonging hamlet Thimonia. Countless ancient olive trees, which extend almost to the coast, line this trail. Continue uphill through a pine forest until you reach the highest point of the hike with views of Theologos. Now it's going downhill, passing fields until you reach the mountain village of Theologos, which was during the time of the pirate capital of the island. Today Theologos attracts with its taverns, which are known for grilled goat, lamb and kokoretsi. Approx 5 hours +400m -100m Day 6: Fascination Nestos River/Mainland. The Nestos is one of the largest rivers of Greece and flows across from the island of Thasos in the Thracian Sea. The delta is one of the few and the largest protected areas in Greece. Before the Nestos reaches its delta, it flows through a spectacular meandering gorge. On one side, up to a thousand meters high rock, on the other hand, wide sands and forests with lush vegetation. The gorge of Nestos is home to many rare animals and plants. Iridescent dragonflies and butterflies inhabit the shore. From the lush forests you can hear the song of many birds. Even wild horses live here, and on some rocks grow flowers that are only found in the gorge of Nestos On the way to Stavroupolis your guide will give you complete information about the next steps. In Stavroupolis arrived where you start after a short introduction to a unique canoe tour in this fantastic landscape, accompanied by experienced guides. Amid this colorful nature and have a picnic, and who wants can go for a swim in the clear water of the river. Approx 7-8 hours (4-5 hours canoeing, 20km) Day 7: On the ancient path to Limenas. Hike: On this sparsely marked hike you will start from the mountain village of Panagia, pass St Mary's Church and then go steeply up to the little chapel of Saint Panteleimon. From here there is a wonderful view of the bay from Golden Beach and the highest peaks of the island, the Ipsarion (1,206 m) and the Profit Ilias (1,100 m). Next over a stony forest path you can refresh at a spring and reach the 1899 built chapel Athanasios, which actually consists of two chapels and is dedicated of the three Saints Raphael, Nicholas and Irene. Through shady deciduous trees and pine forests, it goes through a wide valley down to Limenas. Again and again, offer spectacular views of Limenas, the coast and the mountains Pangeon of Kavala on the mainland. Between the coast of Thasos and the mainland, you recognize the small island Thassopoula and behind the Nestos Delta. Approx 3-4 hours + 100m - 300m Day 8: Departure from Kavala or Thessaloniki Airport. Transfer from the hotel to the port of Limenas. By ferry boat to the port of Keramoti. Transfer to Kavala or Thessaloniki airport.

Hike: You start with your experienced guide at the "Platia" (village square) of Panagia. At the village source you can fill up your water bottle with fresh clear water. Through the narrow village lanes you will pass the St. Mary's Church, built in 1831. Continue up into the mountains with beautiful views of Panagia. After 1.5 km there is a fantastic view of the bay from Golden Beach. On a clear day you can see over to the neighboring island of Samothrace. Later the path turns up the mountain village of Potamia and there is a fantastic view of the mountain Ipsarion (1.206 m), which now lies in front of you. You will pass several stables and the path leads you to a plane tree with a split trunk through which you can crawl through. After that you will reach a source of crystalline water. While continue you will past bee hives and stables and then you reach the first gardens of Potamia and the village square.
